Chlamydia & Gonorrhea
Chlamydia and Gonorrhea are bacterium that can cause painful inflammations, burning during urination, and pus to be discharged from the urethra however about half of the individuals who contract Chlamydia experience no symptoms. They can also affect the mouth, anus, penis, eyes, and if left untreated they can have serious complications. Luckily, Chlamydia and Gonorrhea are curable; the doctor can prescribe antibiotics that will clear it up. If you do find out you have an STI, your sexual partners within the past 3 months should be examined and treated, this is called contact tracing. It is good to have a follow up test for Chlamydia or Gonorrhea, 1 or 2 weeks after you have completed the treatment to make sure you've cleared it from your system.
