ACNL’s Permanent Supportive Housing Program aims to provide safe, affordable housing for persons 18 or older who are living with, affected by, or at risk for HIV/AIDS and/or HCV. The program provides light case management services to residents and aims to promote housing stability, enhance quality of life, build on individual strengths, and encourage independence.
ACNL has 6 on-site housing units at the Tommy Sexton Centre in St. John’s featuring:
- Universal Design, accessibility features, fully self-contained units, external private entrances
- Shared laundry facilities
- Rent according to affordable housing guidelines with heat and light included
ACNL is not able to:
- Administer medications
- Provide treatment for physical or mental illnesses
- Provide any type of homecare service
- Provide transportation
Eligibility requirements:
- 18 years or older
- Living with, or at risk for, HIV/AIDS and/or Hepatitis C
- Willing to develop a case plan and work toward the achievement of self-identified goals
- Willing to sign and abide by established guidelines and a Tenancy Agreement
How to apply:
ACNL currently receives housing referrals from Coordinated Access, led by End Homelessness St. John’s (EHSJ), and fills vacancies accordingly. Plans to increase ACNL’s housing supply:
ACNL has exciting plans to extend the reach of our permanent supportive housing by expanding the number of units we have available at our Tommy Sexton Centre site.
With the hopes of securing funding our goal is to break ground by the spring of 2025.
